Estilo Spanish Tapas Bar & Charcoal Grill @ Publika
[ 3rd June 2014 ]My friend and I went there for dinner because he knows I've been craving for paella for God-knows-how-many-months, lol. I love the setting of the shop as it was cosy and the lightings were perfect. The waiters there were really friendly and I'm glad that the service was good. We ordered Paella Estilo alongside with two tapas - Gambas Al Ajillo & Piquillos Rellenos de Bacalao. Tapas are small Spanish savoury dishes. I ordered apple & blueberry juice but to my disappointment, the blueberries were out of stock. :<
The first tapas arrived in no time. It was sizzling hot and it smelled really good the moment the waiter placed it right in front of us. How about the taste? Yeah, it was as good as how it smelled. I was glad that I didn't make the wrong choice.
We waited approximately 20 minutes for our paella to be served. When the paella was served, *inserts heavy breathing meme here*, I couldn't wait to stuff the rice into my mouth. When I finally tasted it after taking a shot of the paella, it literally WOW-ed me. It was flavourful, unlike the ones I've tried before which were a tad tasteless. This rice was moist and bursting with flavours. I couldn't stop scraping the rice from the pan.
The second tapas was Piquillos Rellenos de Bacalao. Red peppers stuffed with mashed potatoes and codfish. The fillings were good but I didn't really like the red peppers though. My friend found it OK.
It is a nice place to chill and hang out! Will definitely come back for more for the paella and tapas. :D
